Welcome

Welcome to Food Plus Grocery Store. The goal is to provide an affordable solution for everyone in Kaldus to have nutritious foods. Food Plus will also function as a pharmacy, and associated with the Health1 network of pharmacies. Since the store is not designed to make a significant profit, it can keep prices lower. Also, every city will have at least 1 Food Plus Store. This reduces the chance of food deserts. Food Plus stores will not offer gimmicks or loyalty cards – instead offering the affordable solution.

There can be other grocery stores, but Food Plus is intended to become the staple in the community. Since Food Plus is a national brand, they can bargain for better prices on foods. This will be something most other stores will not have such power. Any food that would expire will be given to homeless kitchens which will provide nutritious food for the majority of those that are homeless, or otherwise not have reliable access to food. This is to keep the food from being wasted even if Food Plus has to take a loss.

There can be convenience stores, but these stores are much smaller, and not likely to be able to reliably go grocery shopping at a convenience store. The better option for the patron will be to go to a grocery store like Food Plus. Also, most convenience stores likely do not have much in the way of nutritious foods, and therefore under little regulation for food prices. This allows them to make a higher profit by being convenient to the neighborhood they do business in.

There is also allowance for other grocery stores, so Food Plus is not a monopoly, but again – being a national chain, they will likely be able to negotiate better prices, and this will also include negotiating prices with local farmers for the resources they can offer.
